The Problem
For Ecuadorians over 54% of Ecuadorians that rely on public transportation daily these services are a necessity, but far too often a source of significant frustration. The primary challenge is the chronic unpredictability of bus arrival times. Passengers are frequently left waiting at bus stops for indefinite periods, unsure if their bus is two minutes away or thirty. This lack of reliable information creates a ripple effect of inefficiency and stress, causing people to be late for work, school, and important appointments. This inconsistency also points to a broader issue: a lack of real-time accountability for bus drivers, making it difficult to ensure schedules are being properly maintained across the transit network.
